FAQs & Policies

How should I prep for my curly hair appointment?


For all Moonstone Studio services, its imperative that you follow these instructions prior to your reservation:​ - Switch to a sulfate free cleanser (shampoo) - Refrain from using silicone based conditioners, stylers, and products that contain heavy oils or butters (shea moisture, cantu). *water based stylers are best - Make sure hair is completely cleaned and dried, with minimal product (day 1-3 preferred) - Make sure hair is thoroughly detangled - Wear hair down, in it's natural state. Please no braids, ponytails, twist outs, etc.




Do you only cut curly hair?


I work with all hair textures. However, I do specialize in curly cuts.




How do I book an appointment?


Booking is super simple. Head over to my booking page and complete the contact form and we’ll get you in for an appointment as soon as possible.




How long will my appointment be?


Every client is different! The duration of each appointment varies depending on the type and length of the hair, along with which service you are getting. When booking, I’m happy to give you an estimation so you can plan your day accordingly.




Do you require a consultation?


Sometimes! With extensive services, like corrective or creative color, it’s necessary that we have a consultation. When booking your appointment, I will certainly let you know if you’ll need a consultation.




Where are you located?


I am currently taking clients at my new location which is located at 101 Inwood Drive Syracuse, NY 13219. Location on the corner of Onondaga Road and Inwood Drive. Enter the front door, up the stairs on the left.




Is there parking available?


You can park right out front.




What forms of payment do you accept?


I accept all major credit cards, cash, and Venmo.




Is your location handicap accessible?


No, there is a flight of stairs.

Policies

CANCELLATION

Please let me know if you need to cancel your appointment at least 48 hours before your appointment time. Please know that this appointment is uninterruptibly yours and without proper notice I am unable to fill this spot reserved just for you. In the event that you send notice less than 48 hours in advance, you will be charged a cancellation fee.

APPOINTMENTS

I accept clients by appointment only with no walk-in availability.

IF LATE

I understand that things happen. In the event that you are more than 15 minutes late, I am unable to honor your appointment and you will be charged a cancellation fee.

GUEST POLICY

Due to the intimate size of Moonstone Studio we ask that you bring no additional guests to your appointment. *Parents will be allowed while accompanying a minor.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

Wherever you are in your hair journey, the objective at Moonstone Hair Studio is to deliver exceptional and transformative experiences. The history of your hair and your routine may play a part in the duration of the process (i.e chemical/heat damage, hydration loss, tension, etc), however Moonstone will work with you to set achievable goals and educate you on the realistic expectations of your hair.

COVID-19

As I’m sure you can imagine, we have made some significant policy changes in order to keep everyone safe during this pandemic. Please read carefully through the below guidelines:

Moonstone Studio is taking extreme precautions when it comes to your experience. For your safety we have implemented the following:

A state of the art ventilation/filtration system, which has given Moonstone Studio a Clean Air'd Salon Certification meeting all OSHA requirements.

☾ Stylists wearing double face masks and a face shield.

☾ Properly sanitizing and disinfecting after each client and throughout the day.

For all guests at Moonstone Studio we have implemented the following guidelines pursuant to NYS CDC Policies:

☾ All guests are required to wear a face mask that covers mouth and nose for the duration of your hair appointment.

☾ Immediately upon entering all guests must sanitize hands and pass a temperature screening.

☾ Guests must text upon arrival and wait for the 'OK' to come up.

☾ Please limit personal items in the salon

☾ Must have COVID questionnaire submitted before day of appointment. (Link will be in email confirmation reminder)

☾ Please no handshakes, hugs or unnecessary touching at this time.

☾ No food in the salon. You may bring your own drink with a lid.
